Have you ever wondered where your furniture comes from? In a world where social and environmental awareness guides our choices, selecting certified materials for our homes is both an aesthetic and ethical decision. These sustainable labels help us create spaces that reflect our values while protecting our planet.

Choosing certified materials means investing in authentic, enduring beauty, where every piece reflects our highest aspirations: creating spaces that are beautiful, healthy, and environmentally responsible.

Across France and worldwide, a wide range of certifications transforms every design choice into a conscious act, balancing beauty, functionality, and respect for the environment. These certifications allow us to blend visual appeal with environmental awareness – an approach that aligns perfectly with the Home Beauty concept.

FSC: responsible wood for your furniture

The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), established in 1993, certifies wood from sustainably managed forests. The FSC label, a response to the challenge of limiting deforestation, guarantees that timber comes from forests that meet strict environmental and social standards, with particular emphasis on the protection of natural ecosystems and biodiversity.

The FSC label appears directly on the product or its packaging. Three distinct certifications exist: FSC 100%, meaning the product is made entirely from virgin fibre from certified forests; FSC RECYCLED, for products made entirely from recycled fibre; and FSC MIX, which combines different approaches, namely: wood or fibers from FSC-certified, recycled, or other controlled virgin sources.

JJA is FSC® certified (FSC®C153134).

OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 : la sécurité textile

Setting the standard for textile safety from yarn to finished product, the OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 label identifies items that have successfully passed safety tests for harmful substances, thereby contributing to both the protection of your health and respect for the environment. With over 1,000 substances tested and criteria updated annually, it provides continuously up-to-date protection.

Four product categories can be certified, each with specific requirements depending on their use: products for babies and young children; materials in contact with the skin; materials not in contact with the skin; and home textiles.

OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 also offers specialised labels, both by material—such as LEATHER STANDARD and ORGANIC COTTON—and by process, including STeP for production conditions and ECO PASSPORT for chemical safety.

GRS: enhanced recycled materials

The Global Recycled Standard (GRS) certifies textiles made from at least 20% recycled materials, such as fabric, plastic, glass or metal. This label thus addresses a major challenge: the responsible use of resources, by certifying compliance with strict environmental and social criteria.

Key guarantees include reduced environmental impact, full traceability, responsible social practices, and transparent communication.

From textiles to plastics, and from glass to metal, GRS covers a wide range of materials for creating responsible interiors.

RSPO: responsible commitment right down to the candle

The international Roundtable of Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) label certifies palm oil produced according to sustainable principles, addressing both the challenges of combating deforestation and protecting biodiversity.

At JJA, this commitment is reflected in our candles, where we prioritise RSPO-certified palm wax. This is accompanied by clear labelling and ongoing dialogue with our suppliers, ensuring complete traceability throughout the value chain.
